The climate magazine Cicerone - Archive

Cicerone is a bi-monthly climate magazine published in Norwegian by CICERO. Cicerone reports on new developments in climate and environmental research, the political arena, and CICERO. The journal also carries reports from important international meetings and conferences. The magazine is from issue 3-2007 renamed Klima.

NORKLIMA: Anthropogenic emissions of particles (aerosols) affect the climate in many ways, including their influence on clouds. The impact of particles has, until now, been one of the greatest sources of uncertainty in projecting the future climate.

Norway’s glaciers shrunk dramatically in 2006

The data on mass balance from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) show a record-high retreat of Norwegian glaciers in 2006. A combination of little snow during the winter and a warm summer and fall has led to a major decrease in all glaciers. Many of the glaciers saw the greatest decrease ever recorded.
