The Carbon Debate

News - News from CICERO

Published 10.01.2018

How much carbon can we still emit while keeping the rise in temperature below 1.5°C?

A paper by a group of researchers led by Richard Millar caused one of 2017 biggest scientific debates when they claimed that the world can emit substantially more CO2 than previously thought before the global temperatures rise by more than 1.5°C.

In a webcasted debate, Richard Millar and Myles Allen both from the University of Oxford will meet Glen Peters and Gunnar Myhre from CICERO to discuss temperature choices, the role of other gasses and the usefulness of carbon budgets.
